Auction Guidelines
Membership is not required for buying or selling in an auction.
The selling price is split as 70% going to the seller and 30% going to the club.
All items must be labeled with the seller’s name, phone number, ID number, and item number.
The auction committee and/or executive board reserves the right to reject any item from being sold.
Game fish are not permitted.
Minimum bids are not permitted.
Labelling guidelines:
PAIR: One male and one female.
MATED PAIR: One male and one female that have produced viable fry.
TRIO: One male and two females.
Items being sold must be accurately described and legible. Failure to do this will result in the item being donated to SWMAS.
Guidelines for bagging:
Proper fish bags must be used.
Zip-lock style bags are not permitted.
Double-bagging is highly recommended.
Failure to properly bag items will result in a $1 re-bagging charge.
SWMAS has bags for sale at all meetings and auctions.
Any item that does not sell for at least $1 will be considered a donation to SWMAS.
Sellers are limited to 50 items per auction.
SWMAS recommends selling no more than 5 of a color strain or species per auction.
To accommodate out of town sellers, a call-up system is used. Call-ups are $2 per item. This fee does not apply to the auction price.
The auctioneer’s decision is final.
A tab is required to buy.
All tabs must be paid in full before leaving the auction.
Cash, check (ID required) or credit/debit cards are accepted.
A $20 service charge will be added for any returned checks.
SWMAS uses the ten table method.
Table 1 and 2 will be sold at the start of the auction.
After table 2, tables will be drawn at random.
SWMAS and ReCast Church and/or their representatives will not be held responsible for any items entered into the auction, nor for any injury incurred during the auction.
Auctions are smoke, drug, and tobacco free events.
